The Green River Green Belt Task Force was awarded $154,205 for an ADA-compliant trail and parking lot that will provide a hiking and biking experience for all users.
Old Quarry Trails Improvement
Bent Sprockets, Inc was awarded $68,660 to Improve 3.3 miles of existing biking trails, add 2.2 miles of new trails, and installation of new interpretive trail signage.
Outlaw Trails
Park County Pedalers, Inc was awarded $300,000 to revitalize a network of social trails, build additional trails, and improve winter accessibility in the 2000-acre Newton Ridge Special Recreation Management Area, North of Cody, WY.
Casper Rail Trail Extension to Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park
Platte River Trails Trust was awarded $300,000 for the development of a soft-surface, multi-use trail along the City of Casper’s abandoned rail line. Extending from Hat Six Road to Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park, the trail will provide a pedestrian connection and expand a segment of the Great American Rail-Trail.
Bighorn River Blueway Trail Access
Cody Field Office Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was awarded $150,000 to establish recreational boating access to approximately 42 miles of the Bighorn River. Development includes site selection, an access road, a gravel parking area, a boat ramp, and informational kiosks.
Hells Half Acre Reopening
Natrona County Travel and Tourism Council was awarded $100,000 to safely reopen Hell’s Half Acre to preserve its historical significance while providing expanded access for residents and visitors to enjoy walking trails and scenic overlooks.
Darnell Hills Open OHV Area Campsite Shade Shelter
The Cody Field Office Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was awarded $100,000 to provide shaded shelters at designated campsites.
Tongue River Water Trail-Fence Solution Pilot
The Sheridan Community Land Trust was awarded $9,600 to enhance safety on the Tongue River Water Trail through the installation of two fence crossings designed for ease of use by both ranchers and paddlers.
Johnny Behind the Rocks Trails
Wyoming Pathways was awarded $100,000 for the development of new multi-use trails at the Johnny Behind the Rocks Recreation Area on BLM-managed land southeast of Lander, WY. Enhancements include updated interpretive signage and the addition of five parking dispersal points.
Trails Complex at Riverside Park
The City of Worland was awarded $100,000 to enhance Riverside Park by constructing a pathway that connects existing park attractions and introduces new recreational amenities for pedestrians and cyclists.
Upton Gun Range
Upton Gun Club, Inc. was awarded $100,000 for the installation of a new trap house and a wastewater system for existing bathrooms, along with clubhouse updates, including electrical, concrete, and groundwork.
Sedar Draw Park-Planning and Design
Central Wyoming Trails Alliance was awarded $45,000 for a multi-phase development featuring a large paved pump track, a bike skills park, a youth bike playground, an in-ground skate park, and adjacent multi-use trails. These funds will specifically support the planning and design phases for the pump, skate, and bike park facilities.
Henry's Fork Rock Art Trail
Sweetwater County Travel and Tourism was awarded $100,000 for the creation of a parking area, improvement of the access road, and development of a pedestrian trail to view a unique site along Highway 530.
Stuckenhoff Shooting Range Addition
The Casper Shooters Club was awarded $52,535 for infrastructure updates for two existing range stages, including berm reconstruction, parking improvements, updated signage, and enhanced safety areas.
2024 American Rescue Plan Act Projects (ARPA)
North Platte River Pedestrian Bridge
The City of Casper was awarded $3,500,000 to reroute the pedestrian crossing from a vehicular bridge to a dedicated pedestrian bridge and pathway on Poplar Street. This project will provide streamlined, safe access to the North Platte River for recreation.
Pilot Hill Schoolyard Trail Maintenance
The Albany County Board of Commissioners was awarded $182,710 to fund a safety and maintenance assessment and the implementation of recommended changes on the +/- 13 miles of multi-use trails in the "Schoolyard" section of the Pilot Hill Recreation Area.
North Casper Athletics and Recreation Complex Improvements
The City of Casper was awarded $2,845,000 to improve infrastructure and expand inclusive recreation at the North Casper Athletics Complex. These funds will support the creation of a "Miracle" field, allowing people of all abilities to participate in team sports.
Marion Kreiner Pool and Park Improvements
The City of Casper was awarded $1,850,000 to improve infrastructure and expand recreation opportunities in Marion Kreiner Park. These funds will also support pool and splash pad improvements, as well as a new skatepark and pump track in Matt Campfield Park to provide centralized, safe recreation.
Century West Park Pool/Sprayground Renovation
The City of Rock Springs was awarded $743,849 to replace the wading pool in Century West Park with a splash pad center. This upgrade will provide a safe environment for more users and allow for extended operational hours.
Spring Creek Trail Phase 2
The City of Laramie was awarded $2,479,705 for their multi-phase project that establishes an east/west bike path along Spring Creek. Phase 2 includes the extension of the trail westward from 23rd street to 9th street.
LaBonte Park Pathway and Fitness Trail Improvements
The City of Laramie was awarded $1,393,817 to enhance the 33-acre LaBonte Park. The grant will be used to expand the existing walking and jogging path and replace the outdated fitness circuit.
Cheyenne Children's Museum Community Space
The Cheyenne Children's Museum was awarded $290,000 for an events space and a breakout area for natural discovery. This grant will fund the development of an outdoor recreation space featuring a train.
Wind River Range Trailheads
The Wind River Development Fund was awarded $791,301 to enhance and increase access to the Mosquito Park, Washakie Park, and St. Lawrence Basin trailheads in the Wind River Range. The project includes wayfinding and educational signage, tribal permit kiosks, parking improvements, vault restroom upgrades, picnic areas, trailhead cabin renovations, and small sheds for employees.
Powwow Arbours
The Wind River Development Fund was awarded $508,483 to enhance and maintain an existing powwow ground in Fort Washakie that will include the installation of a concrete area to upgrade the facility.
Outdoor Sports
The Wind River Development Fund was awarded $78,100 to renovate and rebuild the dugouts and announcer booth, install new signage, and perform general cleanup of a baseball field in Fort Washakie.
Wind River Lakes
The Wind River Development Fund was awarded $1,168,539 for the Wind River Lakes project, focusing on Bull Lake, Dinwoody Lake, Moccasin Lake, and Ray Lake. These sites require significant renovation and modernization. The project includes wayfinding and educational signage, Tribal permit kiosks, vault restroom upgrades, picnic areas, pavilion structures, and rehabilitated boat ramps.
Eastern Shoshone Playgrounds
The Wind River Development Fund was awarded $1,145,106 to develop three co-located playgrounds designed to meet specific community needs. The project features an ADA-accessible playground, an elder-specific playground with age-appropriate equipment, and a traditional children's playground, along with a track, a soccer field, four restrooms, and picnic tables.
Tribal Buffalo Initiative
The Wind River Development Fund was awarded $333,289 for a project that includes a circular pavilion-type structure to serve as an outdoor education center. The facility will be equipped with a concrete base, picnic tables, interpretive signage, and a public restroom.
Ethete Powwow Arbors
The Northern Arapaho Tribe was awarded $410,000 to help improve and repair the Northern Arapaho Powwow Arbors and Grounds located in Ethete, Wyoming.
